Ready 1

I started this blog as part of my work in a Futuring and Innovation course, and I wanted a space where I could explore ideas about emerging technologies without taking myself too seriously. The name Word Salad Institute felt appropriate—technology discussions often get overloaded with jargon, but underneath all that noise are concepts that genuinely shape how we live, build, and think about the future.

This blog will be my place to sort through those ideas, reflect on what I’m learning, and examine how various technological, social, and economic forces shape innovation. I’m especially interested in where artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, automation, and long-range forecasting intersect, and how these developments influence the systems we depend on every day. Rather than getting lost in academic language, I want to break these topics down in a way that’s approachable, practical, and still insightful.

As the course continues, I plan to use Word Salad Institute to track my evolving perspective, think through future scenarios, and connect class concepts to real-world trends. While this is ultimately an academic assignment, I also see value in keeping the tone grounded—big ideas don’t need to be buried under unnecessary complexity to be meaningful.

This first post sets the stage. There’s plenty more to explore, and this space will grow right alongside my understanding of where innovation is heading.
